Purina pet food recall caused by salmonella contamination

The makers of Purina pet food have announced a limited recall of a certain type of its dog food based on a bag that was contaminated with salmonella.

The type of pet food recalled by Purina PetCare Company include a single production run of Purina ONE beyOnd Our White Meat Chicken and Whole Barley Recipe Adult Dry Dog Food.

The 3.5-lb. bags have a Best By date of October of 2014, a production code of 31071083 and a UPC Code of 17800 12679. All of this information is available on the bottom of the pet food bag.

Pet owners who bought potentially contaminated bags should throw them away and obtain a refund by calling 1-800-473-8546.
