(WJLA) - After being absent from newsstands for nearly a year, Newsweek is making a comeback, the New York Times reports.
The weekly news magazine, which began printing in 1933 but ceased its print edition in December of 2012, will once again start running a weekly issue in January or February of 2014.
The Times reports that thew new magazine will likely raise more of its revenues from subscriptions rather than advertising, its editor in chief said.
Newsweek once boasted more than 3.3 million subscribers. The shutdown of the print edition was supposed to save the company $40 million a year.
