(WJLA) - Consumer Reports is out with its top cars of the year.
The best mid-sized sedan is the Honda Accord, while the best minivan is the Honda Odyssey. Best overall – though not for everyone’s wallet – is the Tesla electric luxury sedan, with a price tag of $89,650.
More than half a million new vehicles are being added to that General Motors recall, which was established to call attention to ignition switches that can shut off engines and could cause crashes. Models added are: Saturn Ion 2003 to 2007, Chevrolet HHR SUV’s, Pontiac Solstice, and Saturn Sky sports cars from 2006 to 2007.
Some Chevrolet Cobalts and Pontiac G5’s have already been recalled. GM says the problem has been linked to 31 crashes and 13 deaths so far.
Meanwhile, a new survey shows a vast majority of Americans say that cheating on taxes is unacceptable. But there are some who think it’s perfectly fine to under-report income, claim bogus deductions, and inflate credits.
This is according to an IRS Oversight Board poll of 1,000 people. Twelve percent of those surveyed say it’s okay to cheat “a little here and there” or “as much as possible.”
