DISTRICT HEIGHTS, Md. (WJLA) - Jocelyn Harris is in love with this house in Prince George's County - for good reason.
She was part of the effort to make it look so good.
"New kitchen, ceramic tile, granite countertops, all new windows, all new doors, Energy Star appliances. It's a total renovation," Harris describes.
All the bells and whistles you could ever want, inside and out - and it could be yours, if Lady Luck is on your side.
Prince George's County is holding a lottery on June 14 to put this rehabbed house into the hands of a first-time homeowner.
The house may be a dream - but the lottery winner won't get it for free.He or she will still have to pay the mortgage. Although, the County is even willing to help you get started.
Thanks to grants, the housing department is offering $30,000 in assistance for a down payment and closing costs, plus another $20,000 in incentives to the lucky winner.
Essentially, you get a $225,000 house for $175,000.
But, you've got to qualify, and show up for the big draw, to take home your dream house in District Heights.
