INSPIRE: Making an impact in the classroom
WASHINGTON (ABC7) —
Life Pieces To Masterpieces serves African American boys from DC's most under-served communities providing academic, creative and emotional support. It also allows them to see someone who looks like them in positive leadership roles.
Daquann Glosson, a sophomore at Trinity Washington University, is well aware of the impact of the program. At age 6, he was enrolled in the program as a student. Now, he's working with students enrolled in Life Pieces to Masterpieces after-school program.
Glosson believes the bonds and self-esteem developed at a young age will be key to their success as students and as men.
Life Pieces to Masterpieces operates out of Drew Elementary School in Northeast.
