Award-winning ballet dancer Isabella Zombron of Oakton, Virginia, is just 11 years old, but she's already a voice for kids battling cancer.

At the age of 8, Zombron saw her godfather, Chris Fitzgerald, go through treatment before passing away from cancer.

"We were very close to him and he would go to all of my dance recitals and birthday parties and it was hard to watch him pass away," Zombron said.

But after seeing him pass away, Zombron made it her mission to keep his spirit alive.

"I started to think about it right as he passed because I knew I wanted to keep him with me as long as possible," Zombron said.

Zombron joined 'Dance, Cure, Hope," an organization that uses social media and dance to raise awareness for childhood cancer.

Now, ABC7 is featuring Zombron's powerful story on Michelle Marsh's Inspire series.
