How to make HOMEMADE bug repellent from SPICES!

Bazaar Spices shared their all-natural alternative to store brand bug repellent that is effective and also smells great! (ABC7)

The spices found at Bazaar Spices are so amazing they've won awards. Co-Owner Ivan Fitzgerald joined GMW to teach us how to make our very own bug repellant that is not only effective but smells great from everyday SPICES!

RECIPE FOR NATURAL BUG REPELLENT

Ingredients:

• Witch hazel or rubbing alcohol

• Distilled water

• Two cloves

• 3–4 tablespoons of any insect-repelling herbs including peppermint, lavender, rosemary, lemon balm, catnip, lemongrass, citronella, or any herbs within the mint family

Directions:

1. Bring one cup of water to a boil and remove it from the heat. Add herbs and cloves, stir, and cover the pot. Cool mixture.

2. Strain the herbs out using a cheese cloth or mesh strainer.

3. Mix water with the witch hazel or rubbing alcohol and pour into a spray bottle.

4. Store your homemade insect repellent in a cool place, such as the fridge
