Eating disorders and the pressures of going back to school

Eating disorders are the third most common chronic illness among adolescent girls, and nearly 30 million Americans will suffer from one in their lifetime. The disorder is often heightened during stressful times such as heading back to school, and it's important for parents to recognize symptoms and understand how to handle the delicate subject. Rebecca Berman, clinical supervisor at The Renfrew Center of Bethesda, and Renfrew Alumna Mica Hinga shared warning signs and steps to help if your child may be suffering.
