Faking the Grade: Former DCPS Chancellor Antwan Wilson gets 6 months severance pay

Faking the Grade: Former DCPS Chancellor Wilson gets 6 months severance pay (ABC7)

Former Chancellor Antwan Wilson will get at least $140,000 salary when he leaves DC Public Schools employment, according to severance documents released Tuesday afternoon by the office of D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser.

The severance package states Wilson will remain a paid employee until March 7. After that, he will receive six months pay within weeks of that March date. Wilson’s annual salary is $280,000.

Days after announcing that he made a "mistake," Bowser announced on Feb. 20 that Wilson had resigned and is being temporarily replaced.

“I have accepted the resignation of Antwan Wilson as the chancellor of DCPS,” Bowser said last Tuesday from the Wilson Building.

Chief of Elementary Schools Dr. Amanda Alexander will serve as the interim chancellor.
