Faking the Grade: DC Councilmember calls for restart to DCPS investigation
WASHINGTON (ABC7) —
DC Councilmember Robert White asked Education Committee Chairman David Grosso to reconsider holding a council hearing on the “improper transfer of former Chancellor Antwan Wilson’s daughter.”
White’s recommendation goes against Grosso’s decision last week to drop the investigation into whether DC Mayor Muriel Bowser knew as early as September about Wilson transferring his daughter to a preferred school.
Bowser claims only knowing of the transfer in February, days before accepting Wilson's resignation.
Grosso had originally called for Bowser to be called to the Education Committee to testify under oath. That request ended when Grosso said he’d redirect the committee’s efforts on other topics last week.
White believes Grosso should invite the mayor to testify, as well as former Deputy Mayor Jennifer Niles and Wilson.
