Tropical moisture will continue to push north as bands of heavy rain swing through overnight. In fact, a FLASH FLOOD WATCH has been issued for Prince Georges, Anne Arundel, Charles, and King George Counties until 2AM. 2"-4" of rain will fall in these areas.
To start Memorial Day, scattered showers and even a few thunderstorms are likely near D.C. and points east. Some neighborhoods farther to the west, will likely be dry to start the day. We will continue drying out and look for more sunshine from west to east through the afternoon for outdoor celebrations. I think the timing looks pretty good for the Memorial Day Parade downtown at 2 p.m. However with an approaching cold front, a late afternoon/evening thundershower cannot be discounted.
A relatively quiet and seasonable midweek pattern sets up before our next cold front heads this way by Friday. That frontal timing is still uncertain, but it does look to bring rain in the Friday and Saturday time frame.
Have a great day and please remember what Memorial Day is all about, remembering our servicemen and women who made the ultimate sacrifice.
