Under partly cloudy skies, overnight temperatures will range from the upper 60s to middle 70s. Highs Thursday will reach the lower to middle 90s under partly cloudy skies. By afternoon, a few showers and thunderstorms may develop to the west in the mountains. By Friday, a cold front will approach the mid-Atlanic and create another opportunity for showers and thunderstorms. The front should pass to the south by Friday night bringing an end to any lingering showers or storms. The updated Labor Day Weekend forecast is still looking good. As high pressure builds into the area, we are becoming more confident we will enjoy a partly to mostly sunny holiday weekend. High temperatures will be in the middle 80s on Saturday and Sunday and in the upper 80s on Monday. The beach forecast calls for partly sunny skies and highs around the 80 degree mark.
